You can remove a layer or layer group from the project at any time:
Hover over the layer or group you want to remove until the action icons appear.
Click Delete.
If you remove a layer, it immediately disappears from the map and from the Layers section.
If you remove a group, it disappears from the Layers section, and all the layers it contained are relocated to its position in the list, outside the group.
