# Editing Data

It is possible to edit data from map layers (spatial data) as well as tables (non-spatial data).

You must have the appropriate permissions to perform the different types of editing.

## Types of Editing for a Layer

* Create a new feature
* Modify the geometry of a feature
* Modify the attribute values of a feature
* Create, modify, or delete values in a table associated with the feature (sub-form)
* Attach documents to features
* Delete one or more features

## Types of Editing for a Non-spatial Data Table

* Create a new record
* Modify the field values of one or more records
* Attach documents to records
* Delete one or more records
