# User Profile and Settings

The **Profile and User Settings** panel lets you customize your experience in JMap NG.

## Access Your Settings

To access the settings, click the User icon <img src="https://3291879974-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F9n1KCuTyIKwSpZcPcC6l%2Fuploads%2FJDQMow9rK47xYJ4602xH%2Fuser.png?alt=media&#x26;token=3ef8f501-064d-4385-807f-01f367dedf2a" alt="" data-size="line"> in the sidebar to open the **Profile and User Settings** panel.

## Edit Your Profile

#### **Change Your Name**

Click the icon <img src="https://3291879974-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F9n1KCuTyIKwSpZcPcC6l%2Fuploads%2FkIM83ONSEUAhgLh07Pa6%2Fedit-user.png?alt=media&#x26;token=d79fbe7c-906a-4a0c-b52e-ce9b5a8270a7" alt="" data-size="line"> next to your name to edit it.

#### **Change Your Password**

1. Open the **Change password** menu.
2. Enter your **current password**.
3. Enter your **new password**.
4. **Confirm the new password** by entering it again.
5. Click **Change** to save your new password.

## Customize the Interface

#### **Application Theme**

Select your preferred theme (light, dark, etc.).

#### **Measurement Units**

Select your preferred distance units from the dropdown menu. These units will be applied to the map scale as well as distance and area measurements.

#### **Application Language**

Click the icon <img src="https://3291879974-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F9n1KCuTyIKwSpZcPcC6l%2Fuploads%2Fpjkjp2wRkKsbKbdeTSye%2Flangue.png?alt=media&#x26;token=bc817b7e-93ec-41f5-9684-69674ebe29e2" alt="" data-size="line"> to display the available languages and change the application language.

The change may take a few moments as it affects both the interface and the data (layer titles, attribute names, tooltip content, etc.).

## Sign Out

Click **Sign Out** to close your session. You will be redirected to the JMap NG login page.

## Close the Panel
