# Adding a Layer Group

Layer groups help organize project layers in a clearer, more structured way, based on various criteria such as theme (sewer network, transportation, regulations, etc.), time period (current year, archive, etc.), or other organizational needs.

**To add a layer group to the project**:

1. Click the **Add Group** ![](/files/azBNU1M1o785xB1wB2DS) icon. A new group named *Layer group* will appear in the **Layers** section.
2. Double-click the group name to edit it. Click on each language label to enter the name in the supported languages.
3. Select the layer you want to add to the group.
4. Press the layer’s icon <img src="/files/HC5gf15yWwKEqnsvFj0X" alt="" data-size="line">, then drag and drop it into the desired group.
